AMBALA CANTONMENT, January 23: Holders Services placed their boxers into seven finals of the 12 weight categories, reiterating their predominance in the 44th Senior National Boxing championships at the War Heroes Memorial Stadium.

However, they lost two of them in the semifinals today. Tuk Bahadur Thapa, champion in the welter weight division, was thoroughly outclassed by the Bangalore National Game8217;s winner Saed Farooz of Railways in a 11-1 decision.

Y S Thapa was disqualified for holding in his bout against Durjai Shastri of Haryana.

The top Services boxer, Dingko Singh, an employee with the Indian Navy, and M Suranjit Singh of Assam Rifles, were at their aggressive best demolishing their opponents, D Kiran Singh RSCB and G S Shankar SPSB respectively, with RSC referee stopped contests decisions in the third round.
