SHIMLA, OCT 15: Top powers Services and Railways maintained a close race for overall honours by making it to the semi-finals in seven categires each with Central Industrial Security Force and Haryana pugilists reaching the semi-finals in four divisions.

Punjab and All india Police AIP placed boxers in the semi-finals of three categories each.

Asian Games batamweight gold medallist, NG Dingko Singh, led the list of top winners by sailing towards an expected title victory alongwith fellow Services star Ramanand in the featherweight category.

N Rana, SC Punera, ME Narayana, G Singh and N Navalan of Services and Railways8217; Bhushan Saini, AS Rao, V Bhaskaran, D Gill, Mohd Ali Qamar, J Kumar and L Prasad entered the semi-finals in their respective weights while R Prajuli and J Fernandes of SSCB and H Singh of RSPB were ousted in the quarter-finals

S Singh, Durjai Shastri, B Singh and R Kumar from Haryana, Bhim Singh, G Singh and H Singh from AIP, R Singh, B Singh and K Kumar from Punjab, a Sharma and HSingh from Chandigarh and Shiv Chowdhary from Himachal Pradesh also earned semi-final berths.

Md Ali Qamar RSPB and S Suresh Singh CISF made it to the semis defeating Md Safdar Khan Bengal, lt weight and Sandeep Kumar AP in lt fly respectively on points while Bhim Singh AIP and Girish Pawar Mah scored facile wins against Deepak Rana Guj and Raj Bahadur UP respectively in the same category both RSC.

AS Rao RSPB beat Jai Prakash Haryana and A Danewala Maharashtra beat Roshangulra Mizoram on points in fly weight.

In bantam, R Singh Punjab outboxed Ramarao AP and L Kharpran Meghalaya beat M Tomba Manipur on points. V Bhaskar RSPB, P Sreenath AP and Md Tarque Bengal also moved into semi-finals in feather category defeating A Shandil SPSB, Naresh Dalal AIP and DS Bisht Delhi respectively on points.

G Singh AIP, SD Singh Manipur and MS Singh AR entered lt wt semi-finals defeating SK Alam Bengal, K Vir AIEB and S Mishra UP respectively.

H Singh Chgbeat SK Hela Bengal retd and T Nunga Mizoram knocked out TD Meeithi Manipur while A Kumar CISF outpointed P Kumar AIP to enter the welter weight semi-finals.
