It was again Sylvester Dickson who was the hero of the day. After playing regulation time as a mid-fielder, he put on the gloves, instead of his team’s goalkeeper Nilesh Chavan, during tie-breaker. And he proved his skills under the bar also by bringing up two fine saves to put his team ahead.

The goal-scorers for Dadar were Bharat Mane, Prasad Shetty, Someshwar Yadav, Francis Fernandes, Sylvester Dickson and Wilfred Periera while Custodio Fernandes, Deepak Diwakaran and John Fernandes failed to score.

For RCF, Suhas Patil, Balin Singh, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Prasanjit Barua and AbhishekYadav scored and Hassan El Fowad, Richard Noranha, Arjun Tudu and Douglas D’Sena were among the guilty who failed to convert.

The Dadar team played comparatively a better game then their Super Division opponents. On the first move itself, in the 25th minute, striker Santosh Adhikari had an opportunity to put his team ahead. Medio Dickson put a long aerial ball and was successful to beat the whole RCF defence. Adhikari, who was lurking near the goal box could not control the ball and lost it to a defender. Adhikari was guilty again as he muffled up another chance in the 31st minute.

Chavan, Dadar custodian has to dive full length to his right to rescue his team from conceding a goal. Thereafter, RCF dominated terms.

RCF were also unlucky as, just before the breather, substitute Govindan Sajju’s header off Fowad’s cross fromright flank struck the post and came back into play.

After the half-time, Dadar had the first chance as seasoned campaigner Francis Fernandes got a free-ball off a melee, well inside the box. But the balding striker could only manage to shoot over.

RCF refilled their armory again in the last quarter of the match. A minute before the final whistle, Douglas D’Sena sent a cross on the goal-mouth and Raza’s header went straight in the hands of Chavan.
