Devoted to the cause

Long time back, in an interview, singer Shankar Sahwney had aired his future plans 8211; a veterinary hospital, an old age home and acting. We don8217;t know about the former two, but acting is certainly on Shankar8217;s mind and schedule. In town to judge Koyel Punjab Di in collaboration with Big FM 92.7, Shankar8217;s looking forward to two Punjabi films. In the meantime, this singer from the Kirana Gharana who has given us songs like 8220;Yaari Yaari8221;, 8220;Kudi Kurmuri8221; and Champion number 8220;Jat Luteya Gaya8221;, has been devoting his time and skill to religious music. An ardent fan of Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, his next album in-the-making is all about sufi music. We are all ears.
