PANCHKULA, March 23: President of the Citizens8217; Welfare Association, S.K.Nayar in press release has condemned the recently started drive by HUDA to remove encroachments in the residential areas of the city. The release said that HUDA had failed to provide basic needs to the residents, such as removal of stray cattle, proper cleanliness in front of houses, proper sanitation system, removal of unauthorised jhuggis in different sectors.

The Association has urged the HUDA to remove only pucca or grilled structures on government land in the Urban Estate and Housing Board colonies irrespective of the fact whether it was encroached on the government land or otherwise. It said that HUDA should take immediate steps to provide proper basic amenities to the residents otherwise the drive should be immediately stopped once forever.

It may be noted that the HUDA started it8217;s demolition drive on the 15th of this month but had suspended it8217;s action temporarily owing to Navratra period because of which there is lack of force. The drive will continue soon after the availability of force.
