Safdarjung staff launch agitation
The employees of the Safdarjung Hospital staged a dharna on Monday under the banner of Karmachari Sangharsh Sangh and and submitted a memorandum to the authorities. According to the union8217;s general secretary Vikas Bajpai, the dharna followed the failure of the government to implement the recommendations of a high-powered panel on issues like shortage of staff and essential drugs in the hospital.

DCPs told to restrict mobile phone use
The Delhi Government has issued orders to deputy commissioners of police DCPs to restrict their cellphone bills to Rs 1,000 per month. As the order holds true for SDMs as well, the DCPs have apparently expressed their dissatisfaction over being equated to them. SDMs are considered to be of the same cadre as assistant commissioners of police, who are three ranks junior to DCPs. The DCPs have also complained that their senior officers, municipal councillors and journalists keep calling them up on their mobile phones and it is impossible to tell everyone to call up later on the normal line as they often reach office only late in the evening.

Load-shedding announcement
The power supply to village Madanpur Dabas, Mubarakpur, Rani Khera, Rasoolpur and their adjoining areas would be affected tomorrow from nine in the morning till evening due to routine maintenance work, the Delhi Vidyut Board DVB said in a statement today. IA announces new schedulesTHE Indian Airlines has advanced the departure of its flight IC-809 to Patna and Ranchi by about five hours for the period starting September 15 till October 25. That means the aircraft A-320 flight IC-809 will leave Delhi at 0545 hours instead of 1015 hours. The return flight8217;s scheduled departure from Ranchi would be 0915 hours and it8217;d be expected to reach Delhi at 1055 hours. In a statement today, the airlines also said that flights IC-817/818 between Delhi-Ahmedabad-Delhi and IC-807/808 between Delhi-Varanasi-Delhi will resume daily operations. While IC-817 will leave Delhi at 0605 hours, IC-807 will leave at 1040 hours.
