Doctors for dharna
Doctors working at various government hospitals will stage a dharna on Wednesday to press their demand for a speedy implementation of the recommendations of the 5th Pay Commission. Therally-cum-dharna is being organised by the Steering Committee of the Service Doctors Association, which represents 11,000 service doctors. The rally will start at Nirman Bhawan at 1 p.m..
Founder8217;s day
Hindu College celebrated its 99th Founder8217;s Day on Tuesday. During a day-long function which ended with a cultural show, a number of persons associated with the college addressed the students.Dr Bharat Ram, the chairman of the college, was presented with a plaque for completing 35 years as chairman of the governing body. A library exhibition was also inaugurated by the chief guest, Dr Kapila Vatsyayan, earlier in the day.
Inter-university debate
Thirteen teams from Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University participated in the Ajit SinghYadav Memorial Inter University Debate. The topic of the debate, which was organised by the PG Men8217;s Hostel Students8217; Union, was quot;Uniform Civil Code 8212; The Need of the Hourquot;.
DDA meet
The Inter Agency Coordination Committee of DDA met on Tuesday and reviewed the progress made in supplying electricity and water to the various DDA colonies. At the meeting, the Lt Governor declared that in colonies being developed by the DDA, creation of infrastructure for water and electricity supply should be synchronised.
Child care camp
The Delhi Diabetes Research Centre DDRC distributed free insulin to diabetic children on Sunday. You and Your Diabetes, a book by the director of DDRC, Dr A.K. Jhingan, was also released on the occasion.
