PUNE, Oct 28: Deepak Nitrite has registered a marginal increase in its sales for the half year ended September 30, 1999, rising to Rs. 83.97 crore from Rs. 81.43 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Gross profit after interest, but before depreciation and tax rose to Rs. 9.57 crore from Rs. 8.31 crore. The net profit increased to Rs. 6.62 crore as against last year8217;s Rs. 5.80 crore.

Deepak Nitrite recorded a 13 per cent increase in exports and brought down interest costs by 22 per cent as a result of the better working capital management and effective fund management.
