Man arrested for ‘running over’ Swiggy delivery partner in Gurgaon, victim hospitalised

According to the police, Tinku (43), a resident of Chandpura ki Dhani in Haryana’s Rewari, had parked his bike outside the Swiggy store.

“Naveen, who lives in Bhagat Singh Colony, arrived in his Scorpio with its siren on. He hit the parked bike, and then allegedly drove over Tinku repeatedly with the intention of causing grievous harm. Tinku is currently admitted in Virendra Hospital in Rewari. In his complaint, Tinku stated that the accused allegedly first rammed into his bike, threatened to kill him, and then deliberately drove the vehicle over him two-three times, causing serious injuries,” a police spokesperson said.

An FIR was registered at Sector-10 police station for attempt to murder and causing grievous hurt.

A probe was launched and the accused was apprehended. During questioning, the accused told police that he had developed a resentment against the delivery agents, including the victim, for allegedly parking bikes in the lane outside his house frequently that obstructed the movement of his vehicle.

Investigations are still underway, police also said. The victim is undergoing treatment, and further action is being taken in the matter, Sector 10 SHO, Inspector Kuldeep, said.
