MUMBAI, SEPT 19: A seven-wicket haul by medium-pacer Amit Dani helped defending champions National beat Cricket Club of India, and maintain their top position, with 30 points after 11 rounds, in the `Dr HD Kanga Cricket League A Division at Cross Maidam today.

CCI, batting first were bowled out for 106, Vinayak Samant making 40. Dani was the wrecker-in-chief with 7 for 32 off 19 overs. National had a good start, openers Wasim Jaffer (49) and Sameer Apte (59) raising 117 for the first wicket. National declared at 145 for three. CCI were 56 for 3 in their second innings.

Left-arm medium-pacer Janak Mistry (6 for 35) helped New Hind to beat Karnatak Sporting Association by eight wickets on their home ground at Matunga. Elsewhere, a seven-wicket haul by medium-pacer Manoj Patil went in vain as Gamdevi Cricketers lost to Shantibhai Sheth Memorials in the `B’ Division.
