Dalits enter quot;forbiddenquot; temple

MUDIGERE Chikmagalur, Karnataka, May 11: A group of dalits have offered worship at the historic Vasantha Parameshwari temple at Angadi village, which was hitherto allegedly placed out of bounds for them by upper caste Hindus. The dalits performed pooja inside the temple premises under the leadership of the Dalit Sangharsha Samiti DSS. The pooja proceeded smoothly. Meanwhile, the villagers have denied that the Dalits were prevented from worshipping at the temple.
