CHANDIGARH, Sept 28: As many as 150 students of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, who had excelled in the field of academics, sports and cultural activities received prizes at their annual prize distribution function at Tagore Theatre today.

The cultural programme commenced with Saraswati Vandana and a group song by the primary class children. Attired in colourful costumes, more than 100 little children danced to the nursery rhymes. The school children also presented the pop version of Vande Mataram.

Musical beats of Rajasthani and Gypsy dance kept the audience spellbound. The school boys performed a one-act play depicting the prevailing social evils in the society. The grand finale was the bhangra presented by the senior boys. School Principal Saroj Gupta read out the annual report highlighting the achievements of the school children in various fields. Presiding over the function, Education Secretary Anuradha Gupta exhorted the students to work hard and be successful. She assured the school all assistance and support from the Administration.
