The Salabatpura police on Monday registered a case of criminal breach of trust and cheating against three people, who duped a weaver of grey cloth worth Rs 2.88 lakhs. One Motilal Bagaria, the owner of a loom, lodged a complaint with the Salabatpura police station, alleging that the accused, who phoned him and gave false names, duped him of 132 cartons of grey cloth. According to Bagaria’s version, the accused approached him on October 7 at Shanti Synthetic and struck a deal of grey cloth stating that they were customers of VaruTex. He further added though the accused received the goods they failed to make any payment. The Salabatpura police have registered a case under sections 419, 420, 406 and 114 of the CrPC and are investigating further.

Case registered
The Kapodara police have registered a case under sections of the IPC as well as the MVA against an autorickshaw driver, who while driving recklessly, injured a bystander on the road, near Nana Varachha Fire Station, during the early hours of Monday. Haji Sultan Galodia, the victim, lodged a complaint in the Kapodara police station stating that when he was standing on the road, an autorickshaw (GJ 5 Y 5883) hit him before overturning. Galodia was injured and sustained a fractured leg, besides other injuries. The police have registered a case under IPC 279 and 337 as well as sections 177, 184 and 134 of the Motor Vehicle Act.

Burns death
One Ushaben Laxmanbhai (45), a resident of Sachin GIDC in the city, died on Sunday night in the New Civil hospital, where she was being treated for burn injuries, the police said. A case registered under CrPC 174 in the Sachin police station stated that the deceased was cooking in her house on Friday when the stove exploded, causing her severe burn injuries. She was since being treated at the New Civil hospital.
