Aide to Dilip Maratha arrested
Ashok Amarsinh Chauhan, alias Vicky, an aide of Chhota Rajan gangster Dilip Maratha was arrested by the PCB under provisions of PASA and despatched to the Bhuj special jail to serve a sentence. Vicky has been named in two complaints registered against members of the Chhota Rajan gang in the past one month. A PCB release said Vicky used his underworld connection to extort money from the builder lobby and procure plots of vacated land. The police has so far booked six persons under PASA in the past month for their connections with the underworld.

Kills himself
A case registered in the Mandvi police station of the district said a man committed suicide by hanging himself after his wife did not return home from her brother8217;s house, where she went to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. Shanti Gamit, wife of Kohla Bhimsingh Rathod of Amli village in Songadh, told the police that she had gone to her brother Chemabhai8217;s house to mark the Raksha Bandhan festival but could not return as Chemabhai8217;s wife was not well.

Electrocuted
An unidentified 30-year old man died of electrocution on Monday morning, the Katargam police informed. The man was passing under a High Tension HT electric wire behind the Ganeshpura bus stand when he received an electric shock and died on the spot. A complaint was registered later by Arvind Parma, a resident of the area. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered in the police station.
