Woman kills herself
One Sumanbhai Keshav Patel, a 45-year-old resident of Pipla Falia, Mota Varachha, who tried to commit suicide by consuming poison in his house on July 16, died on Wednesday morning in the Ashaktashram hospital, the police said. The reason behind the extreme step could not be ascertained as the man could not give his dying declaration to the police. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered in the Katargam police station.

Woman dead
One Surekha Sanjay Patil, a 20-year-old woman, who tried to commit suicide with her paramour in her house, after being caught red-handed by neighbours on Sunday night, died in the New Civil Hospital on Wednesday morning. Vakil, the 25-year-old youth with whom she was caught, died within hours of admission in the hospital on Sunday. Quoting the dying declaration of the woman, the Limbayat police said that she was making tea for Vakil in her house, when neighbours bolted the door from outside. To avoid disgrace, the woman and her paramour set themselves on fire, the police added.

Hit-and-run
A municipal corporation employee sustained injuries when he was hit by a truck at the Sarthana check post on Tuesday night. Shankar Fakir Rathod told the Kapodara police in a complaint that a truck hit him when he tried to stop the vehicle at the octroi check post at around 10 pm. The employee could not note down the registration number of the truck. A case under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act and the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
