Cheating case
Jaganswaroop Mahant of the Gurukul Vidyalaya, Surat, lodged a complaint in the Kapodara police station, stating that he was duped of Rs 98,000 by Visnuprasad Prajapati, who escaped with the money collected from students as school fees. Prajapati, originally a resident of Chigota village of Sabarkantha, was entrusted with the job of collecting the school fees. The Kapodara police have registered a case under IPC 406 and 420 and are investigating further.

Family brawl
A woman was beaten up by her brother-in-law and other relatives over a family dispute on Sunday night, a case registered in the Rander police station said. Daksha Patel, a resident of Swami Atmanand Society in Rander, told the police that she was dragged by the hair and hit with a bamboo stick and an iron rod, which injured her head and arms. An argument of the complainant with her mother-in-law is said to be the reason for the brawl.
