Girl missing
Surat: One Pushpa Dattaram Marathe, a four-year-old girl, has been missing since Tuesday evening. In a complaint lodged by the girl8217;s father Dattaram Ranjit Marathe with the Umra police station, Puspa was last seen playing opposite her house on Tuesday evening. Marathe, who resides in a slum opposite Gayatri Mandir at Bhatar Char Rasta, told the police that she was thin, darkish with short hari and was wearing a blue dress. A case has been registered and investigations are on.

Man beaten
Radheshyam Dobhi, a resident of a slum in the Limbayat area, complained to the Limbayat police that he was taken forcibly from his house at plot no 167 by three people and beat him up. He said he was taken to one Ashok8217;s house and confined illegally. A fight over liquor is said to be the cause behind the beating. A case has been registered, though no arrests have been made as yet.

Vehicle theft
A Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle GJ 5 NN 1940 of one Babu Vanmali Patel was reported stolen from the Varachha Road area. The complainant told the Varachha police that he had parked his vehicle in the basement of Bhumi Apartments, Kasturbanagar, Varachha from where it was stolen in the night. A case under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.

Criminal case
Vadodara: The Makarpura police on Wednesday registered a criminal case against one Jayshankar, Ganjibhai Bharwad, Devi Bharwad and Vijay Purohit, on charges of damaging private property. According to the police, the four poured kerosene on one Ramanbhai Kalidas Kulmali8217;s hut in Vishwa Jyoti Ashram area on Tuesday night and set it on fire. The police said a search was on for the accused, who were absconding.
