Seven-yr-old girl dies in hit and runA seven-year-old girl died on the spot when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle on Sumul Dairy Road on Thursday morning, the Mahidharpura police said. Sumitra Surendra Dakwa, who was walking on the road opposite Sumul Dairy, was hit by a speeding motorcyclist at 10.45 am on Thursday morning. The girl died on the spot after receiving severe head injuries, the police said. Surendra Dakwa, residing at Bilindranagar slum, beside the road told the police that the culprit fled the scene and his vehicle number could not be recorded. A case under section 304(a) as well as those of the MVA has been registered at the police station. The youth was fixing a wire when he received the shock and died instantly, the Katargam police said, who have registered a case under CrPC 174.Vehicles stolenTwo vehicles, a Hero Honda and a Suzuki motorcycle, were reported stolen in separate cases registered at the Salabatpura and Athwa Lines police stations during the past 24 hours. Mahesh Babu Patel, the owner of a Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ 5 AF 9103), told the Salabatpura police that his vehicle was stolen from the footpath opposite M G market on Ring road, where it was parked. In another case, a Suzuki motorcycle (GJ 5 EE 48) belonging to Vipul Shah was stolen from the Gopipura Main Road, where it was parked. Cases under section 379 of the IPC have been registered at the respective police stations.
