Man murders kin, hangs self
Sanjay Thakrey 25 strangled his brother8217;s wife, Sunanda Thakre, and hung himself at Mulund. In a suicide note he confessed that he was killing Sunanda and himself because of their illicit relationship. At the Shantinagar slums in Dahisar, Mangesh Kedar knocked Baban Shinde unconscious. He was rushed to Bhagwati Hospital but never regained consciousness. In another incident at Harikrupa Tata Colony, a robber strangled Bharti Patil with an electric wire and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 25,800.
2 Al-Umma members held
Two Muslim fundamentalists belonging to the Tamil Nadu based Al-Umma organisation were arrested by the crime branch of the Mumbai police from Thane on Friday.
Abdul Aziz and Khwaja Nizamuddi, residents of Mallyapallayam in Tirunervelli, Tamil Nadu were picked up from their hideout in Kalyan. The duo have confessed to their involvement in the blasts at the Hindu Munnani head office at Chennai in April 1995 and at the R S S head office at Chennaiin 1993. They were also involved in several murder cases at Chennai.
