CPI to align with AIADMK

Stating that the political scene in the state was heading for a bi-polar contest in the coming elections, he said the CPI state council will meet in the third or fourth week of this month to finalise its strategy.

Meanwhile, AIADMK deputy general secretary K Kalimuthu has fiercely criticised the DMK Government for issuing police summons to AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalitha, demanding that she furnish corrobative proof for her charge that the bombs recently detected by the police were planted by the state administration.

In a rejoinder to Electricity Minister Arcot Veerasamy8217;s statement on the issue, Kalimuthu wondered if Veerasamy had provided any proof for the wild charges he had levelled against Jayalalitha in the past.

8220;Is it not a matter of shame that the Karunanidhi Government is still continuing in office, without tendering its resignation, owning moral responsibility for the bomb explosions in the state?8221; he asked in his harshly-worded statement. He went on to state that the people of the state would teach the Karunanidhi regime a fitting lesson for muffling the voice of the opposition.
