
UNA, Jan 17: Even a single more day of the BJP government in power was suicidal and detrimental to the interests of the state said former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh while launching Congress Party8217;s mass movement and information campaign from Una today to bring down the government. He was addressing the press at the PWD rest house last night. He said that the national general secretary R.K.Dhawan8217;s visit to the state was a part of the preparations to destabilise the government.
The former Chief Minister vowed to topple the state BJP government within 15 days of the fall of the Union Government which, he said would soon cave in under the weight of coalition partners. Regarding the possible support of the HVC MLAs in forming the government in the state, he said that no party was untouchable but added that according to the Pachmari declaration, people facing corruption charges would not find place in the party.
Virbhadra Singh demanded a judicial probe in the loss of apples worth Rs 2 crore and alleged that the apple cultivators of the state had not been paid a single penny so far against apple procured worth Rs.30 crore in the last season.
The Parbati Hydro Electric project was a complete sell-out of the state8217;s interest, he said. Even the opposition was not taken into confidence while signing the deals for the project. He said that the state had no share of power in the project and NHPC would employ its surplus backlog of employees and only the remaining vacant posts if any, would be given to the Himachalis.
Earlier, Virbhadra Singh was accompanied by the former Speaker and state Congress general secretary Thakur Kaul Singh and other senior functionaries of the District Congress Committee.
