Cong for probe into wheat import row

New Delhi, July 7: The Congress today asked the government to immediately institute an inquiry into the multi-crore wheat import scandal. The party alleged that that concerted attempts were being made to 8220;hush up8221; the matter.

Party spokesman Ajit Jogi told reporters that the investigation in the matter needed to be handed over to the CBI in view of such attempts.

He recalled that Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee had assured parliament that the issue would be probed by CBI.
