Cong downplays SC direction to party MP

SC had asked Subba to respond to a CBI report which questioned the veracity of his birth certificate.

Congress downplayed the Supreme Court’s direction to controversial party MP M K Subba which questioned the authenticity of his birth certificate amid allegations that he was a Nepalese citizen.

“The matter is in the Supreme Court. We will wait and see what happens,” Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan said.

The Apex Court had asked Subba to respond to a CBI report which questioned the veracity of his birth certificate following a probe over a petition which alleged that he was a Nepalese citizen.
