Kids on a role
Springdales Nursery School, behind Anand Park in Aundh, which is doing well for itself after just over a year in the business, has organised an annual function where little ones between two and five will display their performing skills.

On September 30, 10 a.m. sharp, the children take the stage on the school premises. The idea came to Principal Indu Singh after she observed their performance in the weekly class called Show n8217; Tell. The children are told to get something of their choice and say a few lines on it, encouraging them to display their talents and gain confidence. The lower kindergarten students will tackle simpler themes, while the upper kindergarten ones, who have worked longer with presentations, will give more polished performances. A nice way of tapping the hidden talents of children!

Hands down
On the cards this week is an exhibition that would make for an interesting, as well as money-saving, visit. On display and sale are handmade Diwali cards painted by students of the SNDT Arts and Commerce College. These cards, full of colour and quaint motifs, are also priced quite reasonably between Rs 3 and 15. The 3,000-odd greeting cards will be on display and sale at the Balgandharva Kala Dalan from September 28 to 30. Check it out.
