While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh recently read Noam Chomsky8217;s Profit over People, a critique of the neo-liberal economic world order, the celebrated intellectual says he too knows 8220;something about Dr Singh8217;s earlier career and his recent policies8221;. Responding to a news report in The Sunday Express about Singh having read his book, Chomsky also said he found Rahul Gandhi8217;s idea to implement NREGA across India a 8220;very positive8221; step. Wonder what the Left would have to say to that, having claimed that a pan-India NREGA was their idea.
