
Centre for sack of Rabri govt
Giving in to the demand of the BJP-Samata combine, Centre today recommended sacking of the RJD government in Bihar and imposition of President8217;s rule while keeping the Assembly in suspended animation even as differences within the Cabinet came to the fore with Commerce Minister Ramakrishna Hegde opposing the decision.
Uttarakhand Bill tabled
The Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 1988 envisaging the creation of a separate hill state of Uttarakhand referred by the President of India was today tabled in the UP state assembly for consideration. The Bill was tabled by the Secretary of the Vidhan Sabha.
Veiled warning by AIADMK
AIADMK is understood to have issued a veiled warning to the Vajpayee Government that it would be difficult for the party to support the resolution on imposition of PresidentAtilde;shy;s rule in Bihar in Lok Sabha if the Karunanidhi Government was not dismissed.
