President8217;s rule imposed in Bihar
Following the Union CabinetAtilde;shy;s recommendation today, President8217;s Rule was imposed in Bihar. The Cabinet at its extraordinary meeting chaired by Home Minister L.K. Advani discussed the Governor8217;s report on the law and order situation and felt the state was a fit case for imposition of Central rule.

Badal: Tohra overambitious
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today launched a frontal attack on Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Gurcharan Singh Tohra, and alleged that the Congress party had a hand in the crisis that the Akali Dal was facing.Tohra was over-ambitious, Badal said. He was addressing a largely attended political conference of the Shiromani Akali Dal SAD workers of Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib at the Polo Grounds.
