MUMBAI, December 2: Central Railway Mumbai Division CRMD came from behind to beat Union Bank of India UBI 2-1 in the BHA Senior Division hockey league 2-1 at the Khalsa College Gymkhana Ground, today.

Two goals by Edwin Moti scripted victory for CRMD after UBI led by a goal at the interval.

UBI shot into the lead in the 18th minute through a penalty-corner conversion by Balbinder Singh.

But CRMD came into their own in the second half. Sukhdev Singh slammed in the equaliser from a penalty-corner earned by the hardworking Edwin Moti.Moti then scored the match-winner with a superb solo effort in the 60th minute.

Three goals by A Mhatre highlighted Rasayani8217;s thumping 5-2 win over BARC.The winners led 4-2 at half-time after Mhatre struck in the 6th and 17th minutes. M Gale and M Jawale were the other Rasayani scorers before the interval with Plasidius Lakhra and Vijay on target for the losers.

A third strike by Mhatre in the 47th minute completed the scoring.

SNG prevail

HOLDERS Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana Nagpur outplayed Union Bank 100-51 half-time 59-22 in the men8217;s section of the Bombay YMCA basketball tournament organised by the Ghatkopar Branch.

Shrihari Garge 28, Deshmukh 24 and Shatrugan Gokhale 23 led the scoring for the winners. Pankaj Rathod 29 top-scored for the bank.Central Railway beat Flying Apostles 64-61 33-31 in another match. Mansoor 16, Mohd Riyaz 19 top scored for the railway side. Anand Colaco 15, Danny D8217;Souza 17, Sylwan Desmond 13 starred for the losers.

Bombay YMCA beat Colaba Woods Green8217; 84-48 44-22 in further action of the day. Shabbir Khan 20, Zikar Karodiya 13, Ibrahim Lakhdawala 12 and Sirajudhin Khan 10 piled on the points for the winners. Steve with 26 top-scored for Colaba.

Dahisar Sports Club recently concluded a successful tour of Valsad, Chikli and Daman winning six of the seven matches it played. Nishad Kora 50.33 topped the batting averages scoring 302 runs. Abhijit Sarmalkar 142, Vaibhav Sondkar 137 and Paras Shah 114 were among the top scorers.

Pravin Gori 15 wickets and Rambhau Walang 9 exceled with the ball. Kora was adjudged Man of the Match.
