KHANNA, May 3: The case of alleged kidnapping, forcible marriage and divorce of a Muslim girl, Rani, of Kot Mandiala Kalan village, 15 km from here, is becoming a complicated riddle for the police to solve.Sikander Ali has, in a letter to the police, said that his marriage to Rani was solemnised according to Muslim rites in the presence of her father and grandfather. He also stated that divorce was given with her consent because her mother was against the marriage.Sikander Ali alleged that the case had been instituted against him due to old rivalries.He produced photographs of the marriage to the police showing Rani signing the nikahnama. He also gave copies of Nikahnama and Talaknama to the police. SSP Khanna R. S. Hundal said a case had been registered on a complaint filed by Rani.
