CHANDIGARH, Nov 27: All eyes were focused on the gorgeously attired young boys and girls as they passed in a procession through Sector 17 on the eve of the two-day Chandigarh Carnival which commences at the Leisure Valley, Sector 10, tomorrow. The procession began from the Leisure Valley around 3.30 p.m. and passed through Sector 17 Piazza and Government Press Chowk before returning to the Leisure Valley. Students of College of Art, and Food and Craft Institute accompanied hundreds of other students in colourful cardboard frames of birds, animals and aeroplane on their bikes and bicycles. Many school bands and an impressively decorated car of noted TV artist Jaspal Bhatti accompanied the procession.Meanwhile, the Leisure Valley was all decked up for the annual carnival starting tomorrow. The Carnival bears a new look this year with the stages, cottages and motifs all designed to give the ambience of "Fun Express" which is the theme of the carnival. A press statement issued by the Centre for Chandigarh Arts said their programme scheduled to be held tomorrow has been cancelled in view of the Carnival. Their next programme will be held on December 5.
