Cabinet meets to decide on Taslima8217;s security

Anti-Taslima protests in Kolkata led to widespread violence after which she was shifted out of Kolkata to Jaipur and is now on her way to Delhi.

The Cabinet Committee on Security CCS met in New Delhi on Friday.

The meeting significantly took place in the absence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is in Uganda to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meet CHOGM.

The meeting was attended by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defence Minister A K Antony and Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

Details of the meeting were not immediately known but it was speculated that it discussed the security issues related to controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen.

Anti-Taslima protests in Kolkata led to widespread violence two days back after which she was shifted out of West Bengal to Jaipur on Thursday.

However, she had to leave the Pink City on Friday amidst security concerns.
