
Sony revises turnover target to Rs 650 cr
Electronics major Sony India has revised upwards its turnover target at Rs 650 crore for 1999-2000, even as its Japanese parent Sony Corporation has embarked upon a massive restructuring exercise aimed at a pruning of world-wide operations. quot;Going by the large potential of the consumer electronics market, the sales turnover this year should be around Rs 650 crore, more than our original target of Rs 615 crore,quot; said Sony India8217;s managing director H Matsumoto.
UAE bags travel awards
The readers of Globo, one of Germany8217;s largest consumer travel magazine, have voted the UAE as the best destination8217;, safest travel destination8217; and the best shopping destination world-wide8217;. The Golden Globo award was received by the Government of Dubai, department of tourism and commerce marketing8217;s director general, Khalid A bin Sulayem at a ceremony in Berlin. The magazine poll compiled responses from almost 12,500 German travellers.

TVS to supply printers to I-T department
TVS Electronics, a leading peripheral manufacturing company, has bagged an order to supply over 2,900 pieces of dot matrix printers worth Rs 2.9 crore from the income tax department. The QX 255 printers are to be installed at over 400 locations around the country, a release said.
