MANSA, Dec 2: Mansa Sadar Police have registered a case against five residents of Kot Lallu village near here, allegedly for taking illegal possession of the house of Amanjit Kaur of the same village.

Amanjit Kaur, wife of Kewal Singh had filed a case in the court against the accused Balbir Kaur, Munshi Singh, Santa Singh, Gurjit Singh and Buura Singh charging them with breaking the lock of her house in her absence, taking away her household goods and illegally possessing her house.

She submitted that she was allotted a house under the houses for schedule castes scheme, by the previous village panchayat through a resolution. The village panchayat had allotted 14 houses to homeless people through a resolution moved on Oct 3, 1997. The new panchayat, after taking over charge, decided to reallot these houses to its favourites, she added.

The complainant had submitted that the police had not provided her justice, despite repeated requests. Following the highhandedness of the said persons, the court ordered the Sadar Police Station to file a case against the accused under sections 382/380/ 379/447/448 and 452 of the Indian Penal Code at Sadar PS.
