BJP, TC help out beleaguered Central team

CALCUTTA/NEW DELHI, JUNE 19: While Union home minister L K Advani today said the Government was within its rights to send a team to West Bengal, the state continued to give the Central team the cold shoulder. The team, bound for Bishnupur was kept waiting for an hour for state government cars.

Trinamool and BJP leaders came to the team8217;s rescue. At Bishnupur, a Trinamool activist escorted the team around the village. BJP state president Tapan Sikdar gave a list of 96 people allegedly killed in panchayat violence. And Trinamool8217;s Sudip Bandyopadhyay brought three alleged rape victims. Sikdar said the state8217;s rebuff quot;exposed the Left Front Government8217;s fear psychosis.quot;
