BJP: 145;Intellectual146; inside

Amitabh Sinha was first noticed when he assisted late Pramod Mahajan in the logistics of L K Advani8217;s rath yatra during the Ayodhya agitation. As head of the BJP intellectual cell, Sinha is busy organising seminars to hardsell Brand BJP to the class of opinion makers. At a well-attended function last week, Arun Jaitley, Vijay Goel and former Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Prakash Singh spoke on terror. The party intellectual cell was initially to organise nationwide seminars on Amarnath. With the UPA Government having managed to work out a compromise formula to the satisfaction of the warring parties, the cell now plans to conduct seminars on terror, which the BJP thinks would be one of the most important issues in the elections. A former JNUite, Sinha has handled the media for the party in the past. In the present capacity, he brings experts from various fields to contribute on a host of issues, some of which eventually find a place in the BJP charter.
