
The BJP today flayed PM Manmohan Singh8217;s suggestion that the Line of Control LoC be made the 8216;Line of Peace8217;, saying he had 8220;no right8221; to make such an offer which went 8220;against the spirit8221; of a 1994 Parliamentary resolution.
8220;Speaking about converting LoC into 8216;line of peace8217; is against the spirit of Parliament resolution of 1994. The Prime Minister has spoken against the resolution, which clearly says that whole of Kashmir, including parts under Pakistan8217;s occupation belongs to India,8221; BJP President Rajnath Singh said.
8220;He the PM has no right to make such a statement,8221; he said. Singh alleged that making such a statement, the PM was 8220;putting at stake the security of the nation for the sake of votes8221;. The BJP chief was speaking at a rally to protest the UPA Government8217;s policies towards the minorities.
On the issue of quota for Muslims, the BJP chief said his party was not against reservation for the minority community, but was only against 8220;reservation on the basis of religion which would trigger a dangerous trend in the country8221;.
