
Mumbai, December 22: BEST has introduced an advance payment scheme this month for electricity bills which will eliminate the need to visit bill collection centres.
The scheme is open to all consumers who can join the scheme at any time, voluntarily making payment in excess of the billed amount. They can withdraw from the scheme at anytime by discontinuing advance payment.
The amount of advance payment paid, i.e. in excess of the current bill will be considered for rebate in case it results in a nil bill during the next cycle. A rebate of 10 per cent per annum will be given on the excess amount which will be credited in the consumers account.
