CALCUTTA, May 12: Defending National Women8217;s Football champions Bengal will meet Goa while last year8217;s runners-up Manipur will take on Kerala in the semi-finals of the sixth edition of the tournament at Barasat on May 13 and 14. Both the matches will be played under floodlights.

On form, it appears that Bengal and Manipur are destined to clash once again in the final. Both the teams are unbeaten in the tournament so far. They finished at the top of their quarter-final league groups, taking care of their opponents rather easily and collecting the maximum possible points.

Goa8217;s Gracy Pereira will be the girl to watch when they take on Bengal. The forward has been the main scorer for Goa and added goals four yesterday against Tamil Nadu. She will have the support of Angella Gomes, Sharon Lobo and others. Although Bengal are favourites, they will surely have a better fight on hand than their previous matches in the tournament so far.

Bengal will depend a lot on their veteran stopper back Chaitali Kar. Thegirl, who keeps a very calm head, has displayed excellent attacking qualities too. She often runs through the rival ranks, creating space with her fine dribbling. Of course, she will have to do that only if the other forwards, Bandana Paul, Sayanti Nandy and Sujata Kar fail to deliver.

Manipur too will have a prolific scorer in Tababi Devi when they take on Kerala. Tababi scored a hattrick against Tamil Nadu and has been troubling the rival defenders throughout the tournament. Even Kerala have an opportunistic scorer in K Soona. The girl has a hattrick already in the quarter-final league. She will be hungry for more goals.
