Beant case resumes

CHANDIGARH, July 28: Former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh8217;s assassination case resumed here today with the defence counsel moving an application for placing on record any notification regarding S. K. Saxena8217;s appointment as CBI special prosecutor for conducting the trial.The application comes at a time when day-to-day proceedings in the case had been ordered by former UT District and Sessions Judge Amar Dutt.

Replying to the application, CBI counsel stated that the notification should be a part of the record file and a copy of the same would be produced before the court. Taking up the application, UT District and Sessions Judge B. S. Bedi adjourned the proceedings till tomorrow.
