The Bar Council of Gujarat BCG has decided to request the Gujarat Public Service Commission GPSC to allow the advocates, who have been disqualified due to their experience certificate, appear in the examination for the 242 posts of Assistant Public Prosecutor in the state.

The GPSC disqualified around 2,000 advocates for the examination, saying their experience certificate has not been in accordance with the one sought by the commission in the advertisement for the examination.

In a press release, BCG secretary Jatin Chauhan stated that the certificates, which the disqualified advocates had produced, are given to them by senior judicial magistrates and that the same have been used in appearing for similar examinations earlier as well.

The release also said that the advocates have been disqualified due to some misunderstanding of technicalities of the experience certificate in the advertisement.

The decision to represent the issue before the GPSC was taken by the BCG in its executive committee meeting.
