KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian NGO tracking down 26 missing husbands found most of them fled their abusive wives who beat them and even threatened to cut off their penises, a newspaper reported today.
The wives had earlier sought help to locate their missing husbands from a social worker, Michael Chong, who heads a public service unit run by a Malaysian Chinese political party.
Of the 26 cases, five involved terrified men who fled after their wives who had threatened to cut off their penises, Chong was quoted as saying by the Star daily.
One man, who saw his photograph in newspapers, wrote a six-page letter to Chong saying he was too frightened to go home to his bad-tempered wife.
