Bugs Bunny UFOs

NIEDERKALBACH:

A flurry of UFO sightings over the quiet hamlet of Niederkalbach in scenic central Germany came to an anti-climactic end today when police said the mysterious object had finally landed. Anxious villagers were informed that the silver-grey oblong-shaped craft with two slender quivering appendages was in fact a helium-filled Bugs Bunny balloon uncannily similar to those available at a local fair. It drifted over the area for days before slowly deflating and coming to rest in a resident8217;s garden.

Firework menace

MOSCOW: Jittery residents of St Petersberg were today further unnerved by amysterious apartment house explosion which turned out to be only a fireworks blast. Firefighters, summoned after residents heard an explosion, found scorch marks on the seventh floor doors of a lift in the apartment block but no evidence of anything more than a large firecracker. More than 300 persons have been killed in explosions in apartment blocks in Russian cities this month, including two persons in St Petersburg.
