
CALCUTTA, Jan 5: A superb display of seam bowling by Gautam Dutta helped Assam take a vital 105-run first innings lead against Bengal in the East Zone Ranji Trophy league match at the Eden Gardens, here, today.
Resuming at their overnight score of 96 for three in reply to Assam8217;s first innings total of 360, Dutta 6-70 ripped through the middle-order to skittle out Bengal for 255.Assam were 64 for two in their second innings with Rajinder Singh 11 and Vinayak Samant 15 at the crease at close of play.

Play abandoned
AGARTALA: The third day8217;s play of the Ranji Trophy match between Bihar and Tripura was today abandoned due to bad light at the Narsinghgarh School ground near here.
The match started at 1345 hours and umpires had to abandoned the play in 22 minutes with only 5.5 overs in which Tripura added one run to their overnight score of 40 for 2.
