HYDERABAD, JULY 14: The Chandrababu Naidu government, known for its hi-tech administration, came up with yet another novel idea 8212; placing details of all rowdysheeters on the Internet.

The state Cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Naidu approved in principle the report submitted by a Cabinet sub-committee on quot;peace and harmonyquot;. The Cabinet panel made suggestions to contain all kinds of crime, ranging from extremists to rowdysheeters.

To put down rowdysim, the Cabinet panel recommended that details of all such persons should be placed on Internet. Already, the photographs of rowdysheets are prominently displayed at all bus stations and railway stations.

Home Minister T Devender Goud who briefed media later was at pains to explain the necessity of taking the rowdies to the Net. Asked what purpose would it serve, he said: quot;We want them to feel ashamed. Police action alone is not sufficient to curb rowdyismquot;.

The sub-committee also recommended banning of gun licences to all faction leaders, framing a special package for development of faction areas, posting senior police officers to follow up the cases filed against faction leaders.

Likewise, the Cabinet approved the sub-committee8217;s recommendation for taking up distribution of surplus as well as government land among landless poor for curbing extremism in the state. Rehabilitation of surrendered naxalites would be regularly monitored by the district collectors.

It has sanctioned Rs 10 crore to the police department for procuring equipment to enhance security to the ministers and also to rehabilitate the surrendered extremists.
