NAGPUR, SEPT 18: After Aati Kya Khandala, another popular Hindi film song is under the threat of ban. The Vidarbha Teli Samaj Mahasangh has taken objection to the song Kahan Raja Bhoj, Kahan Gangu Teli
of the Govinda starrer Dulhe Raja saying that it hurts the sentiments of the community members.
The organisation has written to Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, condemning the decision of the State government to give a go ahead to the song.
A delegation of the Mahasangh will submit a memorandum to this effect on September 28 at all the taluka and district headquarters in the region.
President of the city unit of Mahasangh, Revanath Kuraskar, told newspersons here that a huge rally has been planned at Amravati on October 6 condemning the song. The decision was taken at the Mahasangh meeting held at Amravati recently.
Organisation’s president, Babanrao Fand presided over the meet while Jagdish Gupta, former Minister of State and Sahebrao Lendhe were also present at the meeting.
Themeeting also decided to vote against the BJP-Sena alliance in the next Assembly elections, if the State government kept on neglecting the demands of the community. Their other demands include scholarship for students, setting up of a special economic development corporation for the community, reservation and employment.
