Police inspector Prakash Limaye told The Indian Express that rioting incidents were the result of petty dispute, as Shivaji Gurav, the complainant in the first incident of rioting on Thursday night was talking to former corporator Pandurang Adsule, which one of the accused did not like.

Acting on Gurav8217;s complaint the police arrested six persons 8211; Bajrang Mahajan, Shivaji Shete, Tanaji Shete, Manjunath Kamble, Hanumant Gadivadar and Prashant Kurne. Three women were also arrested in connection with the retaliatory attack carried out on Friday morning. They include Basavva Londhe, Chimana Sakat and Alka Sakat.

This is second such incident within a month, when mobs of two rival groups have struck terror in their localities.

Ironically just few days back, a peace march led by former MLA8217;s Babuarao Dharwade, Ravindra Sabnis and general secretary of CPI state unit Govind Pansare, had appealed the people in the affected areas not to lose patience and calm.
