Viswanathan Anand kept his one-point lead after 10 rounds of the Corus Super GM Chess Tournament at Wijk aan Zee on Thursday. Anand, with black pieces, took a short draw against Michael Adams of England in the 10th round and moved up to seven points. Anand adopted the Sicilian Defence and took the half-point in a locked position after 18 moves. Adams and Peter Leko followed Anand in second position with six points each. Leko and Alexei Shirov split the point in 25 moves of Petroff Defence. In another game, Jan Timman held 2 Vladimir Kramnik of Russia to a 32 move draw.
