
Viswanathan Anand of India continued his dominance over Vladimir Kramnik in the rapids, defeating the Russian in the rapid playoff to win the Sparkassen chess tournament here on Sunday. Anand won the final 2.5-1.5
Kramnik, who salvaged a draw from an inferior position in the first game of the final against Anand on Saturday, could not capitalise on his white pieces today as the second game petered out in to a draw.
It was Anand8217;s third victory over Kramnik in the quicker time control in recent times. Anand had also defeated Kramnik in the world rapid final at Cap d8217;Agde, France last year.
