An extortionist, not a terrorist

PATIALA, Oct 22: Patiala district police today clarified that Pala Ram, who was lynched to death by residents of Rauni village on the Patiala-Nabha road was not a terrorist, but an extortionist.

Pala Ram was overpowered and severely beaten when he and an accomplice attempted to snatch a scooter from a resident of Rauni village on Diwali night. He was declared dead when he was brought to the Government Rajindra Hospital.
