November 3: Amruta Karkhanis, 11, and a Standard VII student of Swami Muktanand High School, Andheri, won a silver medal in the National Sub-junior Triathlon Championship held at Chennai, recently.

Amruta practices regularly at the Amdheri Sports Complex under the guidance of Raju Palkar for the last three years.

Results
Sub-junior boys: 1 J Gopi Tamil Nadu, 2 A Arun Prasad Tamil Nadu, 3 G Murugan Tamil Nadu.

Sub-junior girls: 1 Sneha Shampur Karnataka, 2 Amruta Karkhanis Maharashtra, 3 TR Lekha Tamil Nadu.

Shanghvi skaters excel
Utpal Shanghvi school, Juhu, who represented Maharashtra, romped home with the overall championship trophy with 160 points in the 19th Super National roller-skating tournament at the JD Tytler School New Delhi, recently. 515 skaters from 14 States took part in the tourney.

The Shanghvi team comprised skaters like Yash Sheth, Neel Bhalaria, Pushpak Jain, Ruchit Patel, Kruti Shah, Rushabh Gada, Rohan Merchant and Mansi Mehta.

The outstanding performers were Dhruti Maru 3 gold and individual speed trophy and Jinal Doshi two gold, 1 silver and individual speed. Yash Sheth secured second position overall and missed being National champion by a lone point.
